How far in advance should I book my day tour?
For 1-Day Tours, we recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak season (December-March). For the best experience, booking 1-2 weeks ahead is ideal, particularly for popular tours like Sigiriya and whale watching. For Multi-Day Tours, we recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance to ensure availability.
Do you offer hotel pickup and drop-off?
Yes, all our day tours include complimentary pickup and drop-off service from hotels in major tourist areas including Colombo, Negombo, Kandy, Bentota, and Galle. During booking, simply provide your accommodation details.
What is your cancellation policy?
We offer full refunds for cancellations to 1-Day Tours made at least 24 hours before your scheduled tour. Cancellations within 24 hours are subject to a 30% fee. No-shows are non-refundable. We offer full refunds for cancellations to Multi-Day Tours made at least 72 hours before your scheduled tour date.
Can I customize any aspects of these day tours?
Absolutely! While we’ve designed these itineraries to maximize your experience, we can accommodate reasonable modifications. Please mention any specific requests during booking, and we’ll do our best to tailor the experience to your preferences. You can also use our “Tour Request” to tell us what changes to an existing tour we have that you would like.
Are your day tours suitable for children?
Most of our day tours are family-friendly. However, some activities like climbing Sigiriya or longer wildlife safaris may be challenging for very young children. Please mention children’s ages when booking so we can advise accordingly.
What languages do your guides speak?
All our guides are fluent in English. We can also arrange guides who speak German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, or Chinese with advance notice (subject to availability, additional charges may apply).
What should I wear on these tours?
Light, breathable clothing is recommended for Sri Lanka’s tropical climate. For cultural sites and temples, please bring clothing that covers shoulders and knees (both men and women). Comfortable walking shoes are essential for most tours.
Do you provide meals on the tours?
Most full-day tours include lunch at quality local restaurants, offering a taste of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. We can accommodate dietary restrictions with advance notice. Bottled water is provided on all tours as are complimentary snacks.
When is the best time for day tours in Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with regional climate variations. December to March is generally considered the peak season with good weather nationwide. May to September is ideal for the east coast, while the southwest is best visited from November to April.
What happens if it rains on the day of my tour?
Light rain rarely affects our tours. In case of severe weather that could impact safety or experience quality, we’ll contact you to reschedule or offer alternatives. This is most relevant for wildlife and beach tours.
What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), PayPal, and bank transfers for online bookings. Cash payments (USD, EUR, GBP, or LKR) are accepted for in-person bookings at our office.
Are there any additional costs I should be aware of?
Our listed prices include all transportation, guide services, and meals as specified. Optional activities, personal expenses, and gratuities are not included. Some of our tours provide the cost of entrance fees. Each tour will mention if entrance fees are additional or provided.
Is tipping expected?
Tipping is not mandatory but is absolutely appreciated. A guideline of 10% for guides and 5% for drivers is customary if you’re satisfied with their service.
